The summit trail is not closed, there was an unauthorized spur trail that is closed making it somewhat confusing but the summit trail itself is clearly open. There were two downed trees we had to climb over, but it wasn't too bad. Take it. On a side note, Tie Trail wraps around the side of the mountain and did not seem as steep, but you will have to maneuver around rocks and climb over three trees on the trail.
